We want your experience to be seamless from the moment you contact us. Here's what to know before you arrive — or log on.
The more context you bring, the more we can accomplish together. Here's what helps most for a first endocrinology visit:
Whether you need a referral depends on your insurance plan. Most PPO plans allow self-referral to a specialist. HMO and some EPO plans typically require a referral from your primary care physician.
We recommend checking with your insurance directly. If your plan requires a referral, your PCP can send it to us directly. Please call our office if you have questions — we're happy to help.
Our office will verify your benefits before your appointment and notify you of any estimated cost sharing.
We are in-network with most major commercial insurance plans. We also accept Medicare. Please contact our office to verify your specific plan coverage before scheduling.
Self-pay patients are welcome. Please contact us to discuss our self-pay rates. Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA, and cash.
New patient appointments are typically scheduled for 60–90 minutes. Endocrine conditions are often complex and multifactorial — we do not rush. This time allows us to review your full history, examine relevant records, perform a focused exam, and build a treatment plan together.
It depends on the labs ordered. If we're drawing blood at your visit, fasting for 8–12 hours beforehand is often recommended for accurate glucose, lipid, and insulin levels. We'll notify you of any specific instructions when confirming your appointment. Diabetic patients should follow their usual medication routine unless instructed otherwise.
Most routine labs result within 2–5 business days. Results will be shared via your secure patient portal, along with any clinical notes from your provider. For urgent results, we will contact you directly by phone.
Yes — we accept new patients via telehealth for many conditions. A video visit allows us to review your history, discuss your symptoms, and order appropriate labs or imaging. Some conditions may require an in-person visit for a focused physical exam, and we'll let you know if that's the case.
We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. You may cancel or reschedule through the patient portal, by phone, or by email. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee. We understand that emergencies happen — please contact us as soon as possible.
Prescription refills for established patients can be requested through the patient portal. Please allow 2–3 business days for processing. We require an up-to-date visit (typically within the past 12 months) before refilling ongoing medications. Controlled substances and certain medications may require an in-person evaluation.
Absolutely. We believe in collaborative care and routinely communicate with your primary care physician, OB/GYN, cardiologist, and other specialists. After each visit, we can send a summary to your referring provider or other members of your care team with your consent.
New and established patients welcome. In-person in Tampa and telehealth throughout Florida.
